Egads! An update!

Shockingly, I'm actually not deceased, despite the rather extended period of time since I spoke to *anyone* on dA. If I've commented on your stuff in the last year, consider yourself singled out for high honour ;)

One of the multitudinous demands of my university degree (a physics major) is that while it's happening, I don't have time to do any Real Art- or anything else, for that matter. However, I'm a compulsive doodler, so I carry a small sketchbook at all times in my classes in the hope of keeping my actual notes relatively clean.

Prompted by some friends I'm posting a few of the better pickings from this semester's doodles, as well as a couple of drawings I did whilst putting off studying once exam period rolled around.

A significant portion of the more 'artistic' ones were prompted by the emotional rollercoaster of having a raging crush on one of my apparently unattainable classmates. Amazing what a bit of basic hormonal angst will do for your art, isn't it? As it turns out, he wasn't unattainable, but that's beside the point. The drawings happened and some of them were even a little different from my generic usual.

I'm on holidays now, but I'm so busy having a good time that I'm not going to promise any regular updates at all- although I'm determined to finish that bird for Annie/Binny and continue the request series.

Well and truly alive.

Scanner Woes

So, after spending some time in Canberra with little to do but watch BBC documentaries and draw, I've actually got some stuff to post- the vast majority of it scraps, granted, but it's still stuff nonetheless.

However, my scanner's on the blink. Yay >_< I might take photos and post 'em, but it seems unlikely due to how crappy they always come out.

In theory there will be more traditional paintings coming. I need to do one for my brother for his birthday, and there'll be another two in the mix soon as well I think.

Things are less complicated now, but koalas are still creepy.

Been doing some traditional painting as last-minute gifts; hopefully I'll actually get around to finishing off Bryn's birthday present from TWO BIRTHDAYS AGO, and do the landscape I promised Av. I at least have some good refs for that now; I just need to mash them together in the right way and get my rear in gear.

I enjoy holidays. I had a rather lovely Christmas, and I hope you all did too; let's start the new year on a good note, yes?

EDIT: Finished Bryn's painting, it's posted as Templar Angel.

Koalas are creepy. You should never trust anything that has more thumbs than you do.

That is all on that note.

Also, stuffs are rlyrly complicated and I need some friends to hit the clubs with. Dancing is simple, people are not.

Yes and No

Yes for having passed everything this semester in pretty much the same manner I did last semester- one high distinction (statistics), one distinction (calc this time, zumg), two credits (programming, which I was certain I'd failed, and physics).

However the 'yes' segment ceases to matter in the presence of the 'no' segment.

The no is a big no that makes the yes pale into insignificance- in that I have just discovered my lovely friend Pidge is in Mumbai. You know, where all the machine-gun-toting-freaks have been killing hundreds of people. Oh, CRAAAAP. I mean, no, she hasn't been killed, she's not on the list of the missing... but STILL. GAH.
